Philip Wang

Dr. Philip Wang earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Virginia. He was a postbaccalaureate fellow in the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communications Disorders (NIDCD) for two years. Inspired by this experience, Philip joined the Graduate Partnerships Program (GPP) in collaboration with the University of Maryland, College Park, and the NIDCD to pursue a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science. After completing his degree he began a postdoctoral fellowship at NIDCD. In 2009, he joined the Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE) staff and served as the Director of Student Services, GPP. In 2012, he became the Deputy Director of the GPP, and in 2016 he was appointed as the Director of the GPP and served in this role for nearly 8 years. As the Associate Director of OITE, he oversees several programmatic areas and provides guidance on policies related to our intramural training programs. Philip’s goal is to help trainees/fellows at all levels have fulfilling experiences and opportunities throughout their time at NIH.
