Darryl Murray, Ph.D. is the Director of the NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP). The NIH UGSP provides scholarship support to students who are committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science research.
Darryl has focused his efforts on providing opportunities in STEM careers and sharing his knowledge in the sciences and experiences with students and trainees interested in science-related careers. He also serves as a mentor to many undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students participating in NIH training programs, along with the NIH UGSP awardees.
Darryl conducted aging research before becoming a member of the OITE team. He earned both B.A. and M.S. degrees in biology from Alabama State University and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University. Subsequently, he completed a postdoc at the NIH National Institute on Aging.
