About this event
About the NIH trainee population
Many of our approximately 1600 post-baccalaureate trainees will apply to graduate or professional school in fall 2025. They are a diverse population, representing educational institutions across the United States. They typically have completed extensive undergraduate coursework in the sciences and a variety of research and/or clinical experiences. Our trainees are interested in pursuing PhD, MD, MPH, and DDS degrees, as well as combined degrees (MD/PhD, PhD/MPH, etc). In recent years they have matriculated in programs in the biomedical sciences, engineering, chemistry, public health, psychology, genetic counseling, pharmacy, medicine, nursing, and dentistry.
Event format
The 2025 NIH Graduate & Professional School Fair will consist of:
- Panel sessions that provide recommendations for getting into graduate and/or professional school
- In-person exhibitor sessions. The exhibitor sessions are your opportunity to meet and speak with students and trainees.
Additionally, registered students and trainees will be able to access pre-recorded workshops, panels, and interviews covering career paths in a variety of disciplines.
