Staff Scientist

Dr. Warren Leonard’s laboratory, the Laboratory of Molecular Immunology (LMI) and the Immunology Center, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), seeks to hire a creative and motivated Staff Scientist. Expertise in protein chemistry/protein purification/structural biology/protein engineering that is applicable to T-cell based immunology and immunotherapy, as well as the ability to evaluate signaling pathways would be highly valuable as would expertise in molecular biology, next generation sequencing approaches, and immunology, including mouse models. An interactive personality and ability to mentor are also very important attributes for the new individual to interact effectively within the lab and to train students and postdoctoral fellows. Candidates should hold an M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree or equivalent with at least 5years of post-doctoral experience and top scientific qualifications. Candidates should have an excellent track record of productivity judged by peer reviewed publications, with expertise as indicated above. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to pursue research interests in an interdisciplinary setting and advance their research career in the supportive intramural environment of the NIH campus. A competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications will be offered.
