The Division of Population Health Research (DiPHR) invites applications for the position of Staff Scientist in the Epidemiology Branch (EB). The Branch conducts investigator-initiated and collaborative epidemiologic research focusing on reproductive, perinatal, and pediatric health endpoints to identify etiologic mechanisms, at-risk subgroups, and interventions aimed at maximizing health and preventing, diagnosing and/or treating disease.
About the position
This Staff Scientist position will require strong quantitative experience to support Investigator-led genomic epidemiology research in EB. The Staff Scientist will perform computational and statistical analyses to identify disease/trait-relevant genetic, epigenetic, and gene transcript factors and their regulatory architecture by linking omics with clinical and environmental data; publish scientific papers and present at conferences; and mentor trainees. Additionally, the Staff Scientist will contribute to the Branch’s research programs such as developing and implementing study protocols, and professional and contracting services.

Qualifications
Eligible candidates will have several of the following experiences or qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in quantitative disciplines such as Genomics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics/Mathematics or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant postdoctoral experience.
- Knowledge and experience in high dimensional human omics data analysis, such as those arising from studies of the genome, epigenome, RNA-seq, single cell RNA-seq, proteome.
- Strong computational skills and experience in working with various software and programming languages and demonstration of keeping abreast with timely genomics resources and bioinformatics tools.
- Strong track record in human genomic research as evidenced by training, work experience, or peer‐reviewed publications.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
- Experience in both genomic statistics and computation/bioinformatics is a plus.
