Staff Clinician

The Division of Intramural Research (DIR) of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) is seeking to recruit an outstanding Staff Clinician with expertise in hematology, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cell therapies to support the Translational Stem Cell Biology Branch and the Laboratory of Transplantation Immunotherapy within the Cellular and Molecular Therapeutics Branch.

About the position

The primary responsibilities will be supporting the translation of novel investigator-initiated drug therapies for bone marrow failure and cancer predisposition syndromes, and natural killer and T-cell based immunotherapeutics, and supporting the clinical research and clinical support programs in NHLBI more generally via serving as an attending physician on the hematology consult service and the transplantation and immunotherapy inpatient service. Responsibilities will also include writing and serving as the lead investigator on one or more clinical trials, supporting research study design and execution, analyzing data, and writing manuscripts. The position also offers exceptional opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside of the NIH. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Branch Chief, Translational Stem Cell Biology Branch. Qualifications

The successful candidate should have a strong track record of achievement, expertise and experience in the clinical care of adult and/or pediatric hematology, allogeneic hematopoetic stem cell transplantation and immunotherapy patients, experience with consultative hematology, and the performance of clinical research. Applicants must have a medical degree (M.D., M.B.B.S., or D.O.) and have completed ACGME training in hematology. Salary is commensurate with clinical and research experience. Prior experience and demonstrated research productivity in the areas of bone marrow failure syndromes and/or immunotherapies is desirable. Appointees may be US citizens, resident non-citizens, or non-resident non-citizens with or eligible to obtain a valid employment authorized visa. However, the candidate must be licensed in the United States and must be able to obtain a Maryland Medical License.
