About the position

A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the laboratory of Dr Dima A. Hammoud in the Center for Infectious Disease Imaging, Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Clinical Center, NIH. The lab conducts basic and translational research in the field of infectious disease imaging, with focus on in vivo detection of fungal infections.

Qualifications

We are looking for a motivated candidate with a Ph.D. degree in mycology, microbiology or related fields and a strong background in molecular biology. The candidate should have working knowledge of microbial metabolic pathways and experience with growing and handling of various fungi such as Aspergillus, Mucorales and Candida for a variety of in vitro functional assays. The candidate must also have experience in basic molecular biology techniques such as molecular cloning, PCR, and immunohistochemistry. A background in developing infectious mouse models is strongly desirable. Candidates should have graduated no more than 24 months prior to the projected start date.
