This role offers a unique opportunity to delve into microbiome-host interactions through advanced techniques in microbiome analysis, genomics, and immunology. If you're passionate about pioneering research, eager to collaborate in a dynamic team, and have computational skills, we invite you to apply and make a meaningful impact in the field!
About the position
The Kong lab at NIAMS is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join our research team in the Cutaneous Microbiome and Inflammation Section. We investigate the role of human-associated microbes in healthy individuals and patients with skin disorders. We are seeking a skilled candidate with computational biology and microbiology experience who is highly motivated to contribute to the skin microbiome field.
Our current projects focus on:
- Altered microbiomes in skin disorders
- Antimicrobial resistance
- Integrated microbiome-host transcriptomics in immunodeficiency
This research aims to enhance our understanding of microbial-host interactions and their contributions to human diseases. We collaborate with leading labs, including the Segre and Nagao labs, employing multidisciplinary approaches such as microbiome analysis, microbial genomics, molecular biology, and immunology. We seek individuals with bioinformatics experience and a desire to contribute to and join our dynamic and supportive team.
