About the position
Postdoc Position Available at National Institutes of Health The Intramural Program of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Within this program, the Section on Synapse Development Plasticity (Chief: Zheng Li, PhD, https://www.nimh.nih.gov/research/research-conducted-at-nimh/principal-investigators/zheng-li.shtml; publications: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/myncbi/zheng.li.7/bibliography/public/) uses molecular and cellular biological approaches, two-photon microscopy, and electrophysiology in mice and magnetoencephalography (MEG) in humans to investigate the molecular, cellular, and circuit mechanisms underlying frustration and irritability. The Li lab is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow. This is a full-time research position located at the 300 acre Bethesda campus of the NIH, near Washington D.C. This position requires a PhD or MD/PhD degree in neuroscience and skill in programming with MATLAB and Python. Research experience in MEG, in vivo electrophysiology, in vivo two-photon/miniscope imaging, and mouse brain surgery is desired. For qualified candidates this is an excellent opportunity to pursue translational research in mice and humans using a combination of cutting-edge experimental approaches. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Send letter of interest, CV, and three references to Dr. Zheng Li (lizheng2@mail.nih.gov).
