About the position
A postdoctoral position is available to study mammalian development, infertility, and evolution at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD. The Section on Mammalian Development and Evolution, headed by Todd Macfarlan uses a multi-disciplinary approach combining molecular, biochemical, genetic, and comparative genomics approaches to understand how mammals evolve new traits. Current projects include: 1) exploring the impact of endogenous retroviruses and their remnants on host genomes, 2) studying the role of Kruppel Associated Box zinc finger proteins (KZFPs) on mammal development and evolution, and 3) identifying novel factors that specify the location of meiotic recombination and modulate fertility in humans. Candidates will have access to multi-dimensional imaging core facilities, substantial mouse colony space, ample support for next generation sequencing applications and outstanding stipend support.

Postdoctoral position at the NCI
A postdoctoral position is available at the DNA Replication Group (PI: Mirit I. Aladjem, Ph.D.), a part of the NCI’s Developmental Therapeutics Branch in Bethesda, Maryland. Our group aims to understand cellular networks that signal to and from chromatin to modulate DNA replication. Since many regulatory feedback pathways are deregulated in cancer cells, the results of these studies will help our understanding of cancer biology and the mechanisms underlying therapeutic strategies.

Staff Scientist
A Staff Scientist Position is open in the Synaptic Function Section at the NINDS, NIH. The selected candidate will lead multidisciplinary investigations into reprogramming mitochondrial trafficking and energy metabolism. These studies will leverage advanced imaging of living neurons derived from diseased mouse models and human iPSCs to elucidate mechanisms governing mitochondria positioning and energy metabolism, and the brain’s adaptative responses to dynamic energy stress.
