The Intramural Research Program (IRP), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), a research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is seeking an outstanding Tenure-Track or Tenure-Eligible Investigator to lead the Neural Computation of Motivation and Decision-Making Section, which is part of the Behavioral Neuroscience Research Branch (BNRB) of the IRP. We are seeking a candidate who is committed to scientific excellence.
About the position
The selected candidate will receive independent resources from NIDA for funding start-up costs and on-going program operations and will be responsible for managing these resources (budget, human resources, and space). NIDA will provide laboratory and office space adequate to establish an outstanding research program at the Biomedical Research Center, located on the Johns Hopkins Bayview Campus in Baltimore, MD. The broader NIH campus and the NIDA IRP in Baltimore provide a rich and highly interactive neuroscience environment. Full federal benefits are included. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must use nonhuman primate behavioral models and possess an M.D. and/or Ph.D. or equivalent degrees in pharmacology, neuroscience, or related fields. Criteria for selection include substantial experience in behavioral pharmacology and neuroscience, and a strong publication record on neuropharmacological mechanisms underlying substance use disorders. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with other research groups within NIDA (e.g., neuroimaging) and therefore should demonstrate a proven ability to establish and sustain collaborative work across multiple disciplines. The position can be filled as either a Tenure-Track or Tenure-Eligible Investigator.
