A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the laboratory of Dr Dima A. Hammoud in the Center for Infectious Disease Imaging, Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Clinical Center, NIH. The lab conducts basic and translational research to apply molecular imaging techniques for infectious disease diagnostics.
About the position
The candidate will be responsible for screening camelid based nanobodies against pathogenic biomarkers from available libraries in an effort to develop novel immunoPET ligands.

Qualifications
We are looking for a motivated Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. candidate with a degree in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or related fields and a strong background in molecular biology and antibody/nanobody engineering. The candidate should have experience with molecular cloning in E. coli and mammalian systems. Experience in techniques such as phage display technologies, recombinant protein expression, purification using different chromatography methods and performing binding assays/measuring binding affinities is required. The candidate must also have experience in working with different recombinant antibody and nanobody formats. Additional experience in basic molecular biology and microbiological techniques is a plus. A background in immunology is desirable but not essential. Candidates should have graduated no more than 24 months prior to the projected start date.
