The College of Health Sciences and Technology at RIT is initiating a Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT) and invites applications and nominations for the full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position of Program Director and an academic rank commensurate with experience in teaching and/or scholarship at the Associate Professor level or higher. The DPT program will be housed in the Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition. The program is planned to meet CAPTE accreditation requirements.
About the position
The Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT) is responsible for developing and implementing the program, attaining and maintaining CAPTE accreditation. This includes curriculum planning and development, designing and management of facility resources, recruiting and hiring faculty and staff. Excellence in teaching and scholarship activities is expected in addition to program leadership and the detailed management of clinical experiences and student progress required to retain CAPTE accreditation. Experience with college pedagogical methods including online course delivery is anticipated. As the Director of a new program, significant collaboration with university offices and involvement in enhancing program visibility and student recruitment and retention are expected.

Qualifications
- Academic doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSc, DPT)
- Licensed or eligible for physical therapy licensure in New York state;
- Knowledge of physical therapy accreditation criteria from CAPTE and state agency regulations;
- Administrative experience related to program planning, implementation, assessment, and management, preferably a DPT program;
- Demonstrated competence with fiscal and facility planning, personnel recruitment and management, arranging and monitoring clinical collaborations including related contractual negotiations;
- A record of excellent teaching skills in a higher education;
- Scholarship/research/publication experience and record appropriate for appointed academic rank;
- Strong written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills to apply to inter-professional education development;
- Commitment to diversity and equity practices in all aspects of the DPT program.
- Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
