The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology at Georgetown University Medical Center seeks a non-tenure line Assistant Professor (Medical Educator Track) with expertise in artificial intelligence, bioinformatics and systems medicine. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the Department’s M.S. Programs in Bioinformatics and Systems Medicine.
About the position
Responsibilities include developing and teaching basic and advanced courses in artificial intelligence/machine learning and other topics in bioinformatics and systems medicine. A key component of both programs is an intensive student research internship. Thus, the candidate will also develop original research projects appropriate for Master’s level students in conjunction with other members of the Department, supervise students in these projects, and assist with placing students in internships within and outside Georgetown.

Qualifications
The candidate must have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related discipline, at least one year of post-doctoral experience, experience designing and teaching graduate level courses, and experience mentoring students in informatics research projects. Formal training in modern teaching methodologies preferred.
