Adjunct Lecturer, Gene Organization and Expression

The candidate is expected to teach a required lecture course in gene organization and expression. It is an in-person course. In general, early-stage graduate students and upperclass biology majors are enrolled in the class. The class size is typically ~20 students. The course introduces students to functional and structural aspects of prokaryotic and eukaryotic genes. Topics include structure of DNA, RNA, transcription and translation and their regulation, and gene families.

About the position

The lectures are typically scheduled for twice a week on T/Th from 12:40 PM – 1:55 PM. Classes are from August 24 - December 14, 2024. Lecture materials are available for use from prior instructors.

Qualifications

A PhD in molecular biology or a related field is preferred. Teaching experience preferred.
