Thriving Thursday – Learning to Disconnect: How incorporating rest in our lives can improve our wellbeing and our work
Speaker: Sara Hunter, OITE
About this event
We all know that taking breaks, resting, and scheduling in time away is important for our well-being. But what we don’t often talk about is how these practices also benefit our productivity and the quality of our work. Truly disconnecting without being weighed down by our building to-do list can be difficult though. So we either never really disconnect or we take our time away but don’t return feeling recharged because we spend our time thinking about all that we’re not doing and all that needs to be done when we return. Disconnecting purposefully and taking time away from our work is not only important for our mental health and well-being but also for sustainability in our field. Join us this Thriving Thursday as we talk about the importance of asking for this time off and then protecting the time we are taking away from work.
